The Silent Witness Program was established in 1982 and serves all law enforcement agencies within Pinal County. Silent Witness is a part of Crime Stoppers U.S.A. and Crime Stoppers International. The program was established to provide a convenient avenue for citizens to call in anonymous tips on unsolved felony cases, as well as, the location of wanted fugitives. The program provides a guarantee of anonymity and provides a cash reward incentive for information leading to a felony arrest or indictment. The rewards are paid from privately donated funds and no tax dollars are used in regards to these monetary rewards.
The Silent Witness Program is a non-profit 501.c.3 and partner with the Casa Grande Police Department. All rewards and expenditures are paid through donations and fund raisers coordinated by the Silent Witness Board.
The citizen will call the Silent Witness tip-line at (520) 836-2100 and provide a tip anonymously to staff. The caller will be provided with a secret code number which ensures their anonymity and allows them to college a reward in the event the information leads to a felony arrest or indictment. The Silent Witness Board of Directors determines the actual amount of the reward, with the maximum reward set at $1,000. After the amount of the reward has been determined and approved, the caller is provided the non-disclosed ban location to collect the reward.
In 2012, Silent Witness implemented a new tip management system, which is web based and allows Silent Witness to receive tips through email and text messages in addition to phone calls. If you want to email in a Silent Witness tip go to casagrandesilentwitness.com and if you want to text in a Silent Witness tip text CRIMES to 274637, address the message to “SW911” along with the information.
A major component of the Silent Witness program is active involvement with all local media outlets. In addition, the Silent Witness staff attends public events and civic meeting in an effort to increase awareness of the Silent Witness program.
